 Hello Everybody, I hope you all guys find me in rejuvenated spirits. Friends, yesterday while sitting on the couch and listening to my favorites on my headphone suddenly one thing strikes me that how these headphones actually evolved throughout the time period. So I put my headphones aside and search the Google for an answer. And guys the results that I found was astonishingly amazing. Then I thought why to keep this knowledge just with me so I did some research and now I am sharing here it with you. So, now, let me just ask you a question,

We all use headphones (or earphones) daily, I won't be wrong if I'll say that they are a part of our every moment we live today, isn't it?? So, in that case, shouldn't we know about how they came out with time???

HISTORY OF HEADPHONES

Yup, hmm. I can hear the "Yes" sound coming from your side. Well, in that case, let's just get started and in this article, we will be dealing with the evolution of headphones.
Lemme make this more clear when and how did the first headphones come up, what were their features as compared to now and the rising of the headphones with time.

So, my dear buddies let's start here we begin,
The journey of headphones begin a long time back and it will be better if I say a few centuries back:

# ANCESTORS OF HEADPHONES:

Bro, Surprisingly, the very first headphone come up in 1881, at that time they had nothing to do with music and were used by telephone operators. The initial design was quite typical then today's one at that time there was only one earpiece with a box like something that you need to put on your shoulder and that was nearly 4. 5 kg that you have to carry all the way.

# GETTING INTO RELATIONSHIP WITH MUSIC:

Woah! our special thanks to the Electrophone system that linked the headphones with the music for once and forever. With this advancement in the technical systems finally, the general folks can hear the local opera and songs comfortably right in their home.

Still, the appearance was quite like a typical 'Stethoscope', you can have a look in the image below.

# MODERNISATION OF HEADPHONES:

In 1910, Nathaniel Baldwin came up with the very first modern headphones. It was the also the first time that his headphones resemble with what we see today. There is one more interesting thing that Nathaniel never got them patented, god knows why.

The U.S. Navy then got it from him.

Guys, then the first dynamic headphones came into the market in 1937, They were DT-48's from Beyerdynamic. Till today dynamic headphones amongst the most popular ones in the market.
In 1949, AKG came up with they're first ever pair of headphones, the K120's and following were the greatest success in the market. After getting this huge success and market capture AKG shut down their film equipment business and only focused on audio devices.

# ADVANCEMENT AND OTHER FEATURES 

In 1958, John C. Koss introduced the very first stereo headphones, his Koss SP-3 captured the whole market in the next few decades. In 1959, the world's first electrostatic pair of headphones was shown by Stax, at a show in Tokyo, which are now amongst the rarest collectibles.
Then after the competition in the market is started, Koss brought their first US made electrostatic headphone the ESP-6's which were nearly about 1 kg.

# SONY ARRIVAL:

Friends if you will ask me about the most important event in this headphones history then my answer will be the arrival of Sony's Walkman. With this, the portability of headphones boosted to a next level. Sony's MDL-3L2 brought a new revolution in the in the headphones.

In the 1980s, the first in-ear headphones came up.

In 1997, Sony released their first pair of neckband headphones.

# 21st CENTURY'S REVOLUTIONARY ARRIVALS:

In 2000, Bose came up with their Quiet Comfort line which has got noise cancellation Technology.

Finally in 2001 comes the iPod which through its arrival changed the whole headphones Industry setup, with its In-ear earphones with white cord. From that day in 2001 to till now more than 300 million iPods have been sold.

In 2008, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Loving altogether with Monster created beats by Dre headphones. They very fastly grabbed a large market share because of their deep bass and great sound quality.

# DOMINATORS OF 2018:

The top 5 leading brands in headphones industry this year are

1. Sennheiser
2. Bose
3. Beats by Dre
4. Sony
5. Grado Labs.

and Creative, Panasonic, JBL, Skullcandy, and Philips are too in the race.

So friends this all was about the headphone's history.
